problem
A24 reached out to me to create custom illustrations of the main characters from X played by Kid Cudi, Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow, and Martin Henderson. As a massive A24 fan and horror movie enthusiast, despite the small scale, this was a dream collaboration for me. These illustrations would be used for a unique set of merch for the movie's release.
solution
Because of the films retro setting, bloody nature, and pornographic overtones, the illustrations would be used for novelty "tip and strip" pens. These pens typically had a pin up model that would undress when you flipped the pen over. For the unique merch for the movie X, the illustrations I created would become blood soaked when you flipped the pen over.
